Federation of Fly Fishers Museum in Livingston, Montana

July 19, 2012 Ashley's Blog 1 Comment

Further adventures in Southwest Montana with Daniel Galhardo of Tenkara USA.

We had heard that there was an antique tenkara rod from Japan at the Federation of Fly Fishers Museum in Livingston, MT

And there it was.

Japanese anglers passing through Livingston apparently donated the items.

A wooden spool remarkably similar to that carried by some tenkara anglers today.

Daniel found another tenkara rod on this wall

He confirmed it as an authentic tenkara rod.

He is going to further investigate this signature.

Also on the wall: a yamame fish from Japan.

And a metal float tube. They wouldn't let us try it out.

I’d link to the museum’s website, but it does not appear to have one.
